‘When I first started in photography that’s what I did, I’d go out to see bands, loud bands because I could feel the sound through my body and I loved that, particularly the sound of the drums.  I absolutely loved sitting near them and feeling that vibration, loud raucous music like Metal and I enjoyed punk.’ Ian Tilton

Tilton photographed Nirvana after being the first European photographer to form a relationship with them. His shot of Kurt Cobain crying was voted the 6th best Rock shot ever by Q magazine amongst others.
